The OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental examination evaluates the knowledge and skills necessary to create a basic SysML model for a system. The exam encompasses model concepts and structure, foundational requirements capture and management, structural and behavioral modeling, parametric modeling, allocation relationships, and the application of stereotypes. A holder of the OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental Certification, leveraging the knowledge and skills gained at this level along with proficiency in a suitable SysML modeling tool, should be capable of making productive contributions to the modeling tasks undertaken by a Systems Engineering team employing a model-based systems engineering approach with SysML.  The OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental Certification serves as a prerequisite for the program’s two higher-level certifications and requires the OCSMP Model User Certification as its foundational prerequisite.
