Superset Data Visualization and Dashboard Consulting Engagement
A major financial services firm sought to transition away from a proprietary, industry-leading BI solution within a key product to an open-source alternative (Superset), aiming to achieve significant reductions in licensing costs.
Deliverables NobleProg facilitated multiple project meetings with the client to thoroughly understand the requirements, scope, potential risks, and technical landscape. Based on this analysis, we developed a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and monitor the project's progress. Our lead consultant worked closely with the client to align the existing data architecture with the specific reporting needs for each report type. The NobleProg lead consultant recommended adjustments to the data stores to maximize the utility of Superset while ensuring optimal performance, and provided expert guidance to the team implementing these changes. Following the optimization of the data store and data pipeline, our consultants began building and deploying various reports based on existing requirements and new requests from the business and customers. To meet specific presentation requirements, custom plugins were developed to enable more interactive data exploration, such as drill-down features.
Outcome The consultants successfully created new dashboards and ensured that sufficient knowledge was embedded within the customer's organization to maintain these dashboards and reports independently. The project, which is currently ongoing, has been positively received by both the customer's business stakeholders and their end clients. Highlighting the project's success, the scope has been expanded to include additional products and end clients.
